How to fix when the Echo (Base Unit) won’t connect or is not recognized

Modified on Thu, Aug 7 at 7:00 PM

If the app cannot connect to the Base Unit (Echo) and the green light does not turn on, please check the following four points. Since the connection is made via Bluetooth, most connection issues are due to app settings or power supply problems.

Have you granted all app permissions?

  • The GRAN EYE app requires all permissions such as location and Bluetooth to be enabled.
  • If you selected "Deny" during the first launch, please change the settings manually from your device’s settings app.

Please refer to your device manual for instructions on how to configure permission settings.

Is Bluetooth enabled on your device?

  • The Base Unit (Echo) communicates with the app via Bluetooth.
  • If Bluetooth is turned off on your smartphone or tablet, it cannot connect.
  • Please check whether Bluetooth is enabled and try toggling it OFF → ON.

Are you using a PD (Power Delivery) compatible power adapter?

  • Use a fast-charging (PD compatible) power adapter.
  • Use an adapter with a USB Type-C port.

Adapters with Type-A ports may not provide sufficient power, so please avoid using them.

Possible issues caused by insufficient power supply

  • Unable to connect to the Base Unit or camera
  • The app cannot detect the camera
  • The connection is lost shortly after being established
  • Camera feed is not displayed or cannot be retrieved

Are you using the included USB Type-C to C cable?

  1. Connect the Base Unit and power adapter using the included USB Type-C to C cable.
  2. Using a USB Type-A to C cable may result in malfunction.

If your issue is not resolved, please also refer to this manual page.
