Firmware update procedure and notes

Modified on Fri, May 23 at 6:07 PM

When you connect GRAN EYE to the app and a "Firmware Update" modal appears, we recommend proceeding with the update to improve camera performance and stability. This article explains the update procedure, how to check your adapter, and important precautions.

Precautions During Firmware Update

During the update, do not turn the GRAN EYE power OFF/ON or press the camera's reset button. This may cause the update to fail and damage the camera.
Please make sure to use a USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) compatible adapter. Using a non-compatible adapter may result in update failure and a non-functioning camera.

How to Identify a PD-Compatible Adapter

1 Check the adapter body

  • Look for labels like "PD", "Power Delivery", or "USB PD"
  • If multiple outputs such as "5V/3A", "9V/3A", "15V/3A", "20V/3.25A" are listed, it is likely PD compatible

2 Check the USB Type-C port

  • USB Type-C can be inserted either way (unlike traditional USB-A)
  • Some PD-compatible adapters display "PD" or a "⚡️" icon near the port

3 Check the product box or specifications

  • If the packaging or product page states "USB Power Delivery compatible" or "Max output XXW" (e.g., 45W, 65W), it is PD compatible

Firmware Update Procedure

01 Start the update from the modal shown in the app

  1. Connect GRAN EYE to the app
  2. When the "Firmware Update" modal appears, tap the "UPDATE" button

02 Execute the update from the FIRMWARE UPDATE screen

  1. The app will automatically navigate to the "FIRMWARE UPDATE" page
  2. Tap the active "UPDATE" button
  3. A "FIRMWARE updating" modal will appear; wait until the update is complete

03 Confirm completion with the camera lamp (during camera update)

You can see how the actual lamp and app display behave in the following video.

  1. When you tap the app's UPDATE button, the camera's power lamp will flash red rapidly (indicating update in progress)
  2. Once complete, the camera will automatically reboot, the lamp will briefly light blue, then turn red
  3. After booting, if the power lamp blinks green (Wi-Fi reconnecting) → lights green (Wi-Fi connected), the update is complete
