What to do if the camera does not switch to Wi-Fi connection (green light) after scanning the QR code

Modified on Thu, Aug 21 at 3:54 PM

Even after scanning the QR code during GRAN EYE Wi-Fi setup, if the camera indicator light
keeps repeating “green flashing → solid red → green flashing → solid red…”, the Wi-Fi connection may have failed.

If this symptom occurs, please reset the camera’s Wi-Fi settings and try the following solutions.

How to Reset the Camera’s Wi-Fi Settings

  1. Press and hold the reset button located about 5 cm below the camera lens.
  2. Release the button once the indicator starts flashing red rapidly.
  3. The camera will reboot, and when the indicator shows red flashing, the reset is complete.

Possible Causes and Solutions

01Incorrect SSID or Password

  • If the SSID or password entered during QR code generation is incorrect, connection will fail.
  • Be careful with case sensitivity, missing or extra symbols, or accidental spaces at the end.

▶ Solution:
Regenerate the QR code with the correct information and scan it with the camera again.

02Trying to Connect to a 5 GHz Wi-Fi Network

  • GRAN EYE supports only 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
  • It cannot connect to a 5 GHz band.

▶ Solution:
Check your router’s settings for the 2.4 GHz SSID and use that to generate the QR code.

03Trying to Connect to a Guest Network (Guest Wi-Fi)

  • Some Wi-Fi routers have guest SSIDs (e.g., **_Guest, **-guest, etc.).
  • Guest SSIDs often restrict LAN communication, preventing the camera from communicating with the app.
  • In many cases, only internet access is allowed, and image transmission between app ⇔ camera (port communication) may be blocked.

▶ Solution:
When generating the QR code, select the normal SSID (not the guest one) that your smartphone is connected to.

If You Still Cannot Connect After Trying the Above

Please contact GRAN DARTS Support with the following information:

  • Model number of your Wi-Fi router
  • Model name of your smartphone
  • Status of the camera’s indicator light when scanning the QR code (a video is even more helpful for accurate confirmation)
